Katherine Aloisi, M.S.Ed.

Have you ever wondered why you think, feel, and act in the ways that you do? Are you interested in understanding yourself more and developing skills so that you can feel better? If you answered ‘yes’ to either of these questions, you’re in the right place! Being curious about ourselves and others is a central focus of therapy. In gaining greater understanding and compassion for ourselves we can change our patterns of thinking, reduce distressing emotions, and interact in healthier ways with the world around us.

My aim is to help each of my clients gain greater understanding of themselves and develop skills and techniques to help them meet their goals. I place special emphasis on the relationship I have with each of my clients and getting to know them in a meaningful and collaborative way. Together we will discover which therapeutic interventions feel right for you and help you move forward in getting to know your true self. My therapeutic approach is heavily influenced by Emotion Focused Therapy, as well as Psychodynamic and Attachment Theory. I also integrate directive, evidence-based interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower clients with skills and techniques that help them succeed and function optimally in their daily lives.
